2017

Spent 5 days photographing around Mt. Sneffels on the Million Dollar Highway

and Last Dollar Road, specifically Red Mountain, Ridgway, Telluride, and

Silverton.

I've noticed that when I research a location prior to

travel, I really don't get a decent "feel" of what I will
experience at the location from a photographer's point

of view.

Therefore, since I am already documenting locations

and writing notes, sometimes sarcastic, I might as well

refocus my presentation strategy to that of an updated

travel log with decent photos and a layout that will

give travelers a sense of what they can expect to see.

Nice little grove

of trees. Another

photographer who

lived in the area

told me that

this was the

worse autumn color in years.

I certainly like it.

Day 5:

Box Canyon Falls / Million Dollar Hwy / Silverton / Cascades / Last Dollar Road.

1.

It's amazing

how bad my technique can

be but at

least I got

this image the

way I wanted it.

Only one of

many.

 Lighting in the

canyon was

quite difficult.

2.

Obligatory

 Aspen

Shot.

Actually it

took some

unique

technique to

make it

look like

this.

4.

Durango to Silverton

Lots of tourists

aboard.

This was the 2nd train which

surprised us

because I don't think I got

any decent

shots from

the first train.

I was out of

position.

Don't see this

when you live

 in a city.

This is why

you go

outdoors.
