Check Disk a hard drive to make sure a drive is working properly:

• My Computer

• Right click hard drive to check

• Properties

• Under TOOLS Tab

• Error-Checking

• Check Now 

•     

• (Checking Disk C will require restarting the computer - after prompting)

Can also defragment a drive.
